How do I download the app?

  1. Open the Play Store (Android) or the App Store (iPhone).
    2. Type "Südtirol Fishing" in the search bar.
    3. Select the app from the results list.
    4. Tap "Install" (Android) or "Get" (iPhone).
    5. Wait for the download to complete. The app will appear automatically on your home screen.

Do I need to create an account even if I only want to fish once?

Yes. A one-time registration is required to use Südtirol Fishing. At the beginning of each fishing season, you can easily update your data if anything has changed.

How do I create an account?

  1. Open the app.
    2. Tap "Register".
    3. Enter the required basic data (email, password).
    4. You will receive an email with a verification code to activate your account.
    5. Enter the code in the app.
    6. Complete the registration by entering the remaining data (name, tax code, address, fishing documents).
    7. Confirm your data.

Can the app be used by foreign guests without an Italian tax code?

Yes. Guests can register and upload the required data and documents.

What should I do if I forgot my password?

  1. Tap "Forgot password" on the login screen.
    2. Enter your email address.
    3. You will receive a link via email to set a new password.

What can I do if I have problems with download or registration?

• Check your internet connection.
• Make sure you have enough storage space on your smartphone.
• Restart your device.
• Try the download again.
• If the problem persists, contact Südtirol Fishing support.

Can I save and use fishing permits as PDF or screenshot?

No. Permits can only be used through the app.

What payment methods are accepted?

Credit card, debit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay – with the option to save for future purchases.

Can I cancel a permit purchased by mistake?

In case of error, contact the relevant management immediately!

Can paper fishing permits still be obtained at sales points (bars, shops, tourist offices)?

Depending on the manager, a limited number of paper permits may be available, primarily intended for anglers who are not digitally savvy.
However, we recommend contacting the individual managers directly to verify actual availability.

Are there different prices for residents and tourists?

Pricing depends exclusively on the decisions of each individual manager. Südtirol Fishing has no influence on this aspect.

Can I fish if I have no internet? (Dead spots in remote areas)

Yes. Apart from purchasing a new permit, all other app functions also work offline. You can use the permits already saved in your account and show them to the fishing inspector even without an internet connection.

Can I purchase a permit without internet?

No. Without an internet connection, the purchase process cannot be completed. However, all other app functions work offline, so you can view previously purchased permits and show them to a fishing inspector even without an internet connection.

What happens if my smartphone battery runs out?

The app contains your fishing permit. If the battery runs out during a fishing trip, you must immediately stop fishing. We therefore recommend checking the battery level before each outing and bringing a power bank if necessary.

What happens if the screen gets damaged or the phone stops working during a fishing trip?

The app contains your fishing permit. If the screen of your phone gets damaged or the device becomes unusable during a fishing trip, you must immediately stop fishing.

Can another person use their own Südtirol Fishing permit on my smartphone if needed?

Yes. During a fishing trip, you can log out of your profile in the app, and the other person can then log in with their own credentials and fish.
However, it's important that you are together at the fishing location, because in case of inspection, both people must be able to be verified.

Can I use my account on multiple devices?

Yes. You can use the app on multiple smartphones because the data is automatically synchronized.

Can I see how many daily permits are still available for a specific water on a specific date?

Yes. If the number of permits for a specific water is limited, the remaining availability is shown directly in the system.

How do I purchase a permit?

  1. Via the "Buy" button and optionally filtering by water, management and date.
    2. Via the "Map" button by selecting the fishing water. Waters where you can purchase a permit through the app are displayed in green.

How do I find a fishing water?

Using the "Map" button, you can freely explore all of South Tyrol to search for a fishing water where permits are purchasable through the app: these waters are displayed in green! Using the "Filters" button in the top left, you can customize your search.

I can't find a fishing water I was looking for, what should I do?

If a specific fishing water is not shown in green on the map, it means that its manager has decided not to sell permits through Südtirol Fishing. We recommend contacting the manager directly for more information.

What should I do if a fishing inspector checks me?

Simply let them scan the QR code associated with the permit you're using. This way, the inspector can check your catch and access history directly on their phone to verify correctness. If the inspector doesn't have the app, you can show them all the data of your fishing trip by tapping "Permit check" under the QR code and showing them the screen.

Does Südtirol Fishing have access to my location?

The app requires access to your location only to show you where you are on the map, so you can understand which fishing water you're in or explore the areas around you. We do not save or share your location information with anyone.

Can I purchase multiple permits of the same type for multiple people?

Yes, during checkout you can purchase the same permit for one or more friends. Simply tap the "Add angler" tab, enter the email with which the angler is registered on Südtirol Fishing, and proceed with payment. The angler will then find the purchased permit directly in the app. This feature was designed specifically for groups of anglers who need to purchase multiple permits at once.

Is Südtirol Fishing free?

Yes, the app can be downloaded for free and when you purchase a fishing permit, there are no additional costs beyond the permit price.

Is it mandatory to log fishing trips in the permit?

Yes. To avoid penalties, every fishing trip or change of fishing water during a fishing day must be logged.
For annual permits with a set number of fishing days, at least one trip per day must be logged for the day to count as "used".

What permits can be purchased on Südtirol Fishing?

You can purchase daily, annual, or daily permit bundles from all managers who have chosen to sell them on Südtirol Fishing.

Is it mandatory to log catches and/or releases?

Every fish taken must be logged immediately after being properly dispatched.
Additionally, internal regulations may require that releases also be documented.
We therefore recommend carefully reading the internal regulations of each fishing permit!

I accidentally purchased the wrong permit, what should I do?

Please contact the relevant management directly, as only they can decide if a refund or exchange is possible. Südtirol Fishing cannot process refunds.

Can I purchase a permit for a future date?

Yes. Südtirol Fishing allows the purchase of permits with future validity.
These permits will be valid from the date indicated on the permit itself and cannot be used before then.
